Psst: You're gonna wanna join this subreddit

There's a new subreddit in town for current and prospective SLP students to find placement, observation, and job opportunities.

According their description, r/FindMySLPplacement "is a community for current and prospective Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) and assistant (SLPA) students and professionals seeking fieldwork placements, shadowing or observation, externships, Clinical Fellowships, and any employment opportunities. Whether you're a student eagerly looking for a practicum placement, a licensed SLP ready to pay it forward by supervising, a company hiring, or an SLP seeking employment, this is your home for all SLP networking."

This is a great opportunity to post information about a placement you're looking for, connect with other SLPs, and find information about new opportunities. Some redditors even host Q & A's about their programs and post reminders about application deadlines.

You'll want to stay in it for the long haul. As a prospective student or graduate student, you can take advantage of the networking opportunities to find observation and internship hours. As a future clinician (or perhaps current clinician), you can use this subreddit to pay it forward and take on graduate students.

Check it out!
